Theatre Review: ‘My Fair Lady’ at Olney Theatre Center

What is your favorite musical?  For me, it happens to be “My Fair Lady.” When I heard that Director Alan Souza was re-envisioning Lerner and Loewe’s s award-winning adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion” for Olney Theatre Center, I was curious to see if I would still enjoy my favorite musical, despite the changes. Director Souza says […]

Recap: New York Socialites Celebrate Sun at JBL Poolside Casino Party

It’s rooftop weather in New York City, and some lucky socialites got their fill last week at the JBL Poolside Casino party, held on the rooftop of Life Time Sky (605 West 42nd at 11th Avenue) in midtown Manhattan.

DJ Wonder and New York’s own Jus-Ske kept the music flowing as VIPs, influencers, tastemakers and music enthusiasts enjoyed the luxe rooftop, offering scenic views of the NYC skyline.

We spotted tons of celebrities, including host Shanina Shaik, Angela Simmons, Sue Tsai and former Bravolebrity Arzo Anwar.

We sipped on light cocktails thanks to Tequila Avión & Martell and snacked on small bites — that looked too healthy for my palette (I like foods that will clog my arteries! Don’t judge.).

The fun part of the evening, aside from getting to take home a JBL speaker, was playing casino with faux casino chips at blackjack, poker and roulette tables. I won a pretty penny before pinching myself and realizing it was fake. Womp!

Still, the best part of the evening was getting to take home a water-friendly JBL speaker.

I went home and tested it out immediately and was pleasantly surprised at the upgrade from the JBL 2 to the JBL 3. (Yes, I had the 2 and the difference is amazing!) Not only does the JBL 3 offer bass that I just didn’t have, but the sound quality is definitely improved. Kudos for making a good product great!

Theatre Review: ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ at Cockpit in Court

You might consider your family quite normal after paying a visit to the Brewster family.  After all, it’s unlikely that you have corpses in your cellar, even if you have skeletons in your closet.  But, if you decide to visit the Brewster family,  please say “no thank you” if two sweet senior citizens offer you a glass […]
