Recap: ‘Beauty and the Books’ Inside The Brooklyn Art Library

“Beauty and the Books” brought out book lovers to Brooklyn Art Library (28 Frost Street, Williamsburg) on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Guests enjoyed an open bar and appetizers as they not only heard readings from authors, but also had the opportunity to get glam thanks to professional make up artists. After touch ups, some guests even took professional headshots thanks to photographer Abhita Austin.

The idea for “Beauty and the Books” was that of Sarita Austin, who wanted to honor her late friend, Dr. Marie-Michelle  Monereau-Merry, who passed away July 20.

Because of her love of beauty and books, Austin along with Dr. Monereau-Merry’s family honored her with the fall event.
