Recap: The Schomburg Center Hosts ‘First Fridays: Black Tie Holiday Edition’

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture kicked off holiday party season with the “Holiday Black Tie Edition of First Fridays,” held last Friday in Harlem.

Guests and museum-lovers alike enjoyed signature cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres courtesy of The Seasoned Pot.

And many grooved — and even swag surfed — to the sounds of DJ Sylk, who kept the crowd rocking late into the evening. Dewon also gave a special performance.

When partygoers weren’t dancing, they were checking out the center’s pop-up exhibition, the Black Power 50. If you haven’t already, check it out this winter.
