Rihanna, acclaimed musical artist, has been named the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year. You can only see her on campus at Harvard University Sanders Theatre (45 Qunicy St, Cambridge) 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. if you have a Harvard ID, but look out for her roaming around Cambridge.  The popular singer will be awarded the Harvard Foundation’s Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award for her work built a state-of- the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Join Teen Empowerment’s upcoming event, “Racism Talks, Together We’ll Walk”with other collaborators including  the City of Boston, and other collaborative partners for a multi-generational and multi-cultural dialogue on racism at Hibernian Hall (184 Dudley St, Roxbury) 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.. Engage in great dialogue geared towards taking action to dismantle the structure of racism. There will be food, speeches, performance, and information on how to take action. Join The Capital Network for a screening of Go Against The Flow documentary at Cooley LLP (500 Boylston Street, 14th Floor) 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The movie will be followed by a  panel Q&A session with the women entrepreneurs featured. Go Against the Flow aims to empower young women with the support of those that came before them to swim upstream and create their dream jobs. Tickets are through The Capital Network, and you can get them here. All tickets are free.

Enjoy Dinner and a Movie at Haley House (12 Dade St, Roxbury) starting at 6:30 p.m. You’ll see The Reluctant Fundamentalist about a young Pakistani man is chasing corporate success on Wall Street. He finds himself embroiled in a conflict between his American Dream, a hostage crisis, and the enduring call of his family’s homeland. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase.

No Name, the rapper performs at The Middle East (472-480 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge) 7:00 p.m.. Tickets are sold out, but you never know. See more information here.

The Annual Massachusetts Urban Farming Conference (UFC) is designed to advance the opportunities and address the barriers involved in cultivating a resilient and thriving Urban Farming sector at Northeastern University (360 Huntington Ave) 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The UFC is a multi-sector stakeholder forum designed to share information regarding what is currently happening in Massachusetts. The UFC fosters solutions, sustainable networks and business relationships. Tickets are $100.00 for this conference. Get yours here.

The Boston Chapter of the Links invite you out to their Mardi Gras celebration at the University of Massachusetts Club (1 Beacon St) 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. The fundraising event will support the health and wellness program at Dorchester’s Martin Luther King K-8.
