Recap: Real Housewives of Potomac Premiere Party at Bliss Nightclub

All signs pointed to Bliss Nightclub as “The Real Housewives of Potomac” celebrated the premiere of season two. Fab Award winner Sunni of WPGC 95.5 hosted the lavish event.

Prior to the screening, Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Ashley Darby, and newcomer, Monique Samuels stole the show on the Bravo red carpet. The group also took the time to celebrate Robyn’s birthday.

This season, fans will be welcoming Monique as she replaced previous cast member Katie Rost.

When a new housewife steps on the scene, they usually go through a process of warming up to the other ladies to see how they fit in.

“It’s always a work in progress,” Gizelle told us exclusively.

The DMV veteran expressed that she was not in a good place mentally to welcome in a new person, but it looks as though the newest member of the group will take her rightful place.

Last season, viewers witnessed a very difficult time in Charrisse’s life as she was going through marital issues. This season she wants fans to see the fun side of her.

“Instead of pulling the negative out of [my divorce], I decided to pull out the positive,” she told us.

Recently, castmates Robyn and Karen exchanged mild words through social media, and during the upcoming season.

“I like to dig under her skin. I know how to jab her where it really hurts,” Robyn said.

Thankfully, it’s all in good fun.

“I just like to play with her. But Karen’s a sweetheart,” she continued.

Through the night, attendees were able to enjoy bites, delicious desserts, and great music. Ashley and her husband Michael Darby hit the floor and danced the night away with their guests.

We also spied so many D.C. tastemakers, including Jamishia Smith, B.J. Coleman, and Paul Wharton.

Season two of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” is one you don’t want to miss. Catch it on Sunday ,April 2, at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.

Theatre Review: ‘Los Otros’ at Everyman Theatre

Literally translated, “Los Otros” means “the others.” With immigration a huge part of the current political maelstrom, Everyman could not be debuting a more relevant new piece of theatre. Continuing with a season supporting thoughtful, new works, Everyman went all in commissioning its first musical. “Los Otros” is a reimagining of the 2012 production, originally performed […]

Theatre Review: ‘Pygmalion’ by The British Players at Kensington Town Hall

“The difference between a lady and a flower girl is not how she behaves, but how she is treated.” This idea is at the heart of the class and gender commentary in the classic George Bernard Shaw play “Pygmalion,” now playing at Kensington Town Hall. More widely known by its musical version, “My Fair Lady,” […]

Cappies Review: ‘All Shook Up’ at Albert Einstein High School

Review submitted by Ben Beriss of Montgomery Blair High School. When guitar playin’ roustabout Chad comes to a small town more conservative than the one Ren McCormack moves to, he shakes it up with his funny, energetic brand of rock’n’roll. With their production of All Shook Up, Einstein High School does the same to the audience. […]
