Experience the photography of Khabeer Sultan at the Watertown Free Public Library (123 Main St, Watertown) in an exhibit explores the portrayal of black men and boys in stunning black and white photos. The exhibit runs through March 30th and is free to the public during library hours.

Juicy J performs with Belly and Project Pat at The House of Blues (15 Lansdowne St, Fenway) 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $35 – $60.00 and you can get them here.

jeezyTuesday, March 7

This month’s SOUP’ed Up Poetry event at Dudley Cafe (15 Warren St) invites you to don your dashikis, medalians, Black empowerment slogans, leather, (those who are not of African Diaspora decent, please do not appropriate) from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. while you experience poetry from artists around New England. Entry is $8.00, and you can purchase your tickets in advanced here.

Wednesday March 8

Simmons College (300 The Fenway) invites you to participate in their International Women’s Day with an informative discussion among women leaders in government and advocacy 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.. Their panelists will discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing immigration, religious freedom, environmental, and LGBTQIA policy, with a specific focus on strategies for women organizing for action. Tickets are $12.00 and include a continental breakfast. Purchase tickets here.

Have a “Queen Talk” at City Pop in Egleston Square (3195 Washington St) 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Wear something comfortable and be open to making new connections. Moonlight1Thursday, March 9

If you haven’t seen the Academy Award Winning Best Picture, Moonlight, here is your chance. Join the Boston Glass for a special screening at 75 Armory St in Roxbury from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m..  Food and refreshments will be provided.

Tonight, Berklee College of Music invites you to Black Music Matters, an evening of celebrating Black music at the Berklee Performance Center (136 Massachusetts Ave) 8:00 p.m. Performances will be by Morris Hayes (musical director for Prince), Patrice Rushen (composer, music producer and songwriter), and Stokley Williams (lead singer and songwriter for Mint Condition). Tickets are $8.00 in advanced and $12.00 at the door. You can purchase tickets here.
